About Us

Plano Arts Week is an annual event for arts awareness in our hometown! For one dedicated week, we will direct our focus to the vibrant arts community that shapes our cultural environment. Plano Arts Week 2025 will be the third annual celebration of the arts in Plano!

How Does Plano Arts Week Work?

All performances of dance, music, and theater as well as art exhibits occurring during this week will be listed on the Plano Arts Week Calendar with links to purchase tickets. Free events in parks and other public places will also have listings.

We encourage all local businesses, workplaces, schools, churches, and all neighborhoods to get involved!

But you don't have to celebrate Plano Arts Week just through formal events. Create and plan your own arts activities, whether it be learning to sew with your scout troop, or drawing with chalk on your driveway, and share them using #PlanoArtsWeek2025.

Let’s join together to enrich our daily lives and embrace a new experience through the arts in Plano!

Cindi Lawrence

Founder and Director

Cindi aspires to make the arts a prominent draw to the city of Plano so more people can discover its riches.

For more than 30 years her studio, Gotta Dance, has remained a leader in dance education in Plano. She also directs its student company, Plano Metropolitan Ballet and is credited with founding Plano’s annual dance festival,  Dance Plano! as well as Plano Arts Week. Cindi created Plano Arts Week with the goal of bringing together artists and arts groups from many disciplines to share their passion with our community. She says, "We want to help the citizens of our city who might be unaware of our vibrant arts scene to realize what we have to offer. There is no need to leave our own backyard to seek out the arts when it's all available right here."

Jessemine is an executive in the insurance industry, but in her free time she is also a ballet dancer. A founding member of Plano Metropolitan Ballet's Generations, she is passionate about giving dancers of all ages a legitimate space to perform and to excel.  Additionally, she serves as the Outreach Chair on the Plano Metropolitan Ballet's Board of Directors. A supporter of the arts in all of its forms, Jessemine is thrilled to be able to be on the Plano Arts Week 2025 leadership team, and hopes to see the event continue to grow year after year!

Emily Clatterbuck

Operations and Website

Emily is an executive in Information Security and has been dancing at Gotta Dance in Plano for the past 11 years. Her love for the arts started young and she has been performing in one way or another since she was three years old --- singing, dancing, theatre, piano, guitar, and more. As if that weren't enough hobbies, she also loves to watercolor, crochet, mosaic, make cards, quilt....it's safe to say that Emily surrounds herself in artistic endeavors. So when Cindi started talking about Plano Arts Week, Emily knew she wanted to participate, and she loves that she is able to contribute by being on the leadership team this year. Emily wants you to know, "Plano Arts Week can be whatever celebration of art you want it to be --- big or small. My little one and I will definitely be making some art for the fridge in the play room! It doesn't have to be complicated, but whatever you decide to do, share it with us! Post a picture and include #PlanoArtsWeek2025 so that we can share in your love of the arts too!"
